About Stanford Weekend:
The 2014-15 MBA Challenge for Charity enters its 31st year in which top west coast MBA programs will compete in volunteering, fundraising, and sports in pursuit of the coveted Golden Briefcase. The Golden Briefcase is awarded during C4C Weekend’s final ceremony to the school that achieves the highest score in the following categories:
- Most hours volunteered on a per-student basis throughout year
- Most funds raised on a per-student basis throughout the year
- Best all-around performance at C4C weekend
During C4C Weekend, eligible students gather from all of the member business schools to volunteer and compete in 28 different events (listed below). Students can participate in as many as they want.
Registration for C4C Weekend usually begins in February. The registration fee increases as time goes on so register early! Only students who have met their hour requirements will be able to attend (10 volunteer hours OR a $500 tax deductible donation from your company). All registrants can also register one guest if they choose (guest cannot be a current MBA student). Guests can participate in all events during the weekend.
The weekend starts around 3PM on Friday and goes through Saturday night. Typically, students will fly up together (into San Jose) on Friday morning and fly back together on Sunday. Food and drink is included all weekend as part of your registration fee. We will get a room block/discount and all try to stay at the same hotel, info will be sent out and posted here early 2014 (not required if you have other accommodations, but it is a lot of fun!).
